Biography
Ana Spasovska (born in Skopje, Macedonia) made her conducting debut with the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra and has since collaborated with numerous orchestras and opera houses across Europe and United States, including the National Radio Symphony Orchestra of Poland, Plovdiv State Opera, Macedonian Philharmonic Orchestra, National Hungarian Symphony Orchestra of Szeged, Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra, Romanian Youth Orchestra, Filarmonica Banatul Timișoara, Shepherd School Symphony Orchestra and New World Symphony.
She is the Artistic Director of the Chamber Orchestra "AYGA" in Skopje, with which she is performing internationally, including Expo Osaka (2025) in Japan, and Washington, USA (2026). She has worked with internationally acclaimed soloists such as Ivo Pogorelich, Simon Trpčeski, Kirill Troussov, and Ana Durlovski.
Since 2024, she has served as Guest Assistant Conductor with the Orchestre National de France in Paris, as well as Assistant Conductor at the European Capital of Culture 2023.
She is the recipient of several distinguished honors, including selection as a 2024 Conducting Fellow at the George Enescu Competition and as a mentee in the 2024–2025 Taki Alsop Conducting Fellowship. In 2022, she was awarded First Prize at the International Competition for Orchestral Conducting in Szeged, Hungary.
She is currently pursuing her Master's degree at Rice University's Shepherd School of Music, where she studies under Miguel Harth-Bedoya. She is the first female conductor admitted to this prestigious program. Highlights of her program include conducting world premieres and assisting opera productions (Verdi's Falstaff, Al Zand's A Joint Interest**).
She has further refined her artistry through masterclasses and workshops with distinguished conductors, including Marin Alsop, Cristian Măcelaru, Uroš Lajovic, Rüdiger Bohn, Thomas Sanderling, Timothy Redmond, and Stéphane Denève.
Originally trained as a violinist, Spasovska completed her Bachelor's degree in violin under Prof. Oleg Kondratenko. As a violinist, she continues to be a member of the Junges Philharmonisches Orchester München.
